About the circuit
The Artistry of Speed: Unveiling the Yas Marina Circuit's Racing Symphony.
The Yas Marina Circuit is situated on Yas Island around 30 minute’s from Abu Dhabi. Designed by Hermann Tilke, this is the second Formula 1 track in the Middle East. The circuit hosted its first Grand Prix on the 1st November 2009. It was the first circuit to host a Formula 1 twilight race using floodlights to illuminate the circuit to ensure a seamless transition from day to night. The circuit holds its value for being one of the very few venues in the world that runs in an anti-clockwise direction. And to surprise the racers more, the track also offers an
underground pit lane. The top speeds of the track stand at 320km/h and with 20 corners, including the 9 right turns and 11 left turns moving you around the man-made Yas Island, the track goes through the marina and beneath the 5-star Yas Marina Hotel too.
The makers have recently tried to make more changes, all for the sake of letting the track offer more overtaking opportunities. But nevertheless, the Yas Marina Circuit already stands as a unique experience for the drivers because of the challenges and sights it provides during the last and all-important race of the seasons.
